For An Island Summer, we headed to a secluded island beach here on the Isle of Wight. We wanted to capture the feeling of the start of summer, with warm days ahead and the irresistible pull of the water. In a world that moves fast, this is about savouring the moments of the present in nature.
Summer is for reconnecting with friends and exploring in the long days. We’re lucky to be surrounded by some incredible locations here on the Isle of Wight.
We chose a favourite spot that many of our team love heading to for a secluded swim. With a sandy beach backing onto lush woodlands, it’s the perfect place to spend a long summer day. Want to know where it is? You’ll have to grab a map and discover it for yourself. We won’t give up our favourite spot that easily.

The day started amongst the trees, in a yurt with everything we needed to energise ourselves for the day ahead. We drank coffee whilst watching the red squirrels darting all around us. In the distance, the waves lapped at the shore, with the water visible through the branches.
We grabbed some beach games and a paddleboard and followed the woodland path surrounded by flowering wild garlic. A short walk later, we emerged onto the quiet beach.

The location is also a special place for wildlife. A few metres offshore is a seagrass meadow. Seagrass acts as a massive carbon store, removing CO2 from the atmosphere. It’s also a habitat for Seahorses, Catshark, and Stingrays.
Spending time exploring these places reminds us why the environment is worth fighting for so that people and nature can thrive.
